Special Feature - Praise the Father, Praise the Son

I would like to introduce a song by Chris Tomlin. It's from his latest album called 'Hello Love'. I love this song. It's very hymnish.... and simple to follow. I even have a feeling of Christmas when singing this song. The words are simply beautiful. It all brings us back to core of who God is.

Praise The Father, Praise The Son
Writer(s): Ed Cash, Chris Tomlin
Genre(s): Modern
Theme(s): Adoration & Praise
Tempo: Slow
Recommended Key(s): C, F

Verse 1
O sovereign God, O matchless King
The saints adore, the angels sing

And fall before the throne of grace
To You belongs the highest praise

Verse 2
These sufferings, this passing tide
Under Your wings I will abide
And every enemy shall flee
You are my hope and victory

Chorus
Praise the Father, praise the Son
Praise the Spirit, three in One
Clothed in power and in grace
The name above all other names

Verse 3
To the valley, for my soul
Thy great descent has made me whole
Your Word my heart has welcomed home
Now peace like water ever flows

Bridge
Yours is the kingdom
Yours is the power
Yours is the glory
Forever

Generation Y

People born before 1945 are referred to as: The Silent Generation

People born between 1945 and 1961 are referred to as: The Baby Boomers

People born between 1962 and 1976 are referred to as: Generation X

People born between 1977 and 1995 are referred to as: Generation Y

Why do we call the last one generation Y?

I had no idea, but a caricaturist has explained it graphically below...

Hey, I learned something new today!

(Don't let me see that on you, coz I will take a snapshot and post it on this blog! hahaha!)

Erica Lee's birthday celebration on 21st September 2008

Our worhip team is beginning to have new culture. We've got a volunteer from the gals to be the birthday manager to keep track of who's birthday is on and coming. I never have to the time to keep track but thanks to Phoebe Tsen loh... You did a great job of making those birthday boys and gals to be happy.

Hence, it has become a great joy for us when we could celebrate Erica's birthday at Citymall few weeks back together with her parents. It was cool and fun. Here are the photos:

3rd Worship Team Gathering (2008) on 10th Aug 2008

This was our 3rd worship team gathering for this year. For the new members, they were pretty excited about the gathering with dinner provided. As for me, there were at least 2 reasons why it was so special. First of all, God had recently added unto our worship team His favour by increasing our number of members. We now have 23 members as at today. Praise the Lord! Secondly, this was the first time we had 100% attendance (as far as I could remember since I joined the worship team about 5 years ago). Not only that, it was 100%+ coz Daniel Chua, our drummer also joined us as he was back from overseas to spend his holiday.

The only tiny problem that night was that the caterer sent the dinner half an hour late. Finally the dinner did come. It was also during that night that we discovered the gals (mostly singers) could sing louder since we were screaming & yelling just to get them to be quiet.... We all enjoyed the dinner and the games. It was fun & good memory....

Remember we heard this song from Inspiring Worship Seminar? Such a simple and beautiful song. It's written over 10 years ago but it's still so important to know that it's all about Jesus. Jesus, may You be lifted up on high ALWAYS!

Jalan-jalan at Centre Point after church service on 14th September 2008

If only they could worship God even more the way they do here.

Song Recording for Phoebe & Deborah at William Wong Studio on 28th August 2008

The outcome was so good! We were surprised at how good William, our soundman can do with all his 'things'! We recorded 4 songs, 2 from Phoebe and 2 from me. Man, it was tiring! Imagine what the real studio will be like. Talk about perfection!

Phoebe's song:
1) I Love You
2) Dandelion (Chinese song)

Deborah's song:
1) The Lifter of my Head
2) You Colour my World

Worship Team practice on 16th August 2008

Our 3 new and young acoustic guitarists and with adorable cute singers too at the background. What can we say, they are all so dedicated, serious, responsible kids. Way to go, kids!

Our first worship team gathering on 16th March 2008

Our first gathering this year was on 16th March, 2008. We had only about 12 members or so at that time. But it's good to look back at our good days! Normally we have simple dinner somewhere during the school holidays. It's just a time of relaxation, meaningful conversation, good clean jokes, food and games! Don't you know that's part of worship too?

Special Feature - Save Australia (and Malaysia too!)

This is a season to sing songs for our own nations. Introducing Save Australia by Planetshakers. It was written in Malaysia when Mike Guglielmucci was here preaching in the Planetshakers conference. This song can be changed to Save Malaysia too. It still rocks! Lord, save Australia, Malaysia and all the nations!

Save Australia

Verse 1
Save our nation Lord
There's nothing we want more

This land of hopes and dreams
Lord bring us to our knees

Pre-chorus
Hear our cry O Lord it's time
Heal this land Lord send Your fire

Chorus
Save Australia
Pour Your Spirit out
On this nation
Send revival to this land
Do it through us
Do it in me

Verse 2
Bless this sun burnt land
With Your mighty hand
Take our hearts and lives
So all may know Your Love

Bridge
Save our nation

Wow! God is using younger and younger people in a great way! :) Believe it or not, this is a power of God!

Psalm 8:2
Through the praise of children and infants You have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.

Laminin - shared by Louie Giglio

Take time to listen to this sermon. It will blow your mind away! Get to know about our body and find God right there. You will be able to see it is God who really holds us together. Literally! Laminin, a protein molecule looks like this:

Song introduced in July 2008

Our worship team is loving this song so much! And not only that, this song really reflects why all of us are serving in the team. We are all made to worship. It's our desire to sing with our voices, play instruments with our fingers, move with our bodies! You and I are made to worship! Let's live that out!

A prophetic song introduced in June 2008

By now, we are all so familiar with this song called 'Malaysia Shouts Your Praise'. We have sung this song since June 2008. We had the honour to have 1a.m. Worship Team to lead worship in Abundant Life Celebration. It was there and then this prophetic song was first introduced, not just to us, but even first in Malaysia (other than their own church). Now is the season of prayers for our nation. This is the time the we declare Malaysia will shout praises in this land. Let's sing and pray at the same time!

Here's the music video:

Song introduced in June 2008

We came across this song through the Youth group in our church. After singing it, we had good feedback. It's really a beautiful love song. It's a song by City Harvest Church, Singapore. If you really like this song we introduced, you can always call the church office and get a copy of the lyrics & chords of the song.

Song introduced in May 2008

This is a song that has popular demand. Well, not exactly a new song . We sang it a few times here and there but not in Abundant Life Celebration. So we follow the wind. Haha! But truly, its a lively and joyful song! Indeed, Jesus Christ has set all of us free! So on our lips, we praise Him and praise Him!

From 'Malaysia Shouts Your Praise' to 'Every Nation Shouts Your Praise'

Great news! 'Malaysia Shouts Your Praise' has another recording called 'Every Nation Shouts Your Praise'. It's free for download and you can get it from here: http://www.1am.com.my/free-downloads/every-nation-shouts-your-praise.html

Here's part of the 1a.m. newsletter in July 2008 (by Kelvin Lim):
We decided to do another recording and called it “Every Nation Shouts Your Praise” as we realize that we have lots of friends outside of Malaysia.

We had lots of great feedbacks for “Malaysia Shouts Your Praise” and we felt we want to bless as many people as possible to declare and pray for our nation today....

The story behind the song:
I have met many Malaysians leaving the country for "greener" pastures. While there may be valid reasons for them to migrate, it saddens me whenever I hear negative comments made towards their own country. They remember very little good or only the bad things that made them leave.

That often makes me question myself, "Are we not responsible for our own nation? God cannot be making a mistake by placing us in the nation we were born in. If we leave, then who is going to reach this nation for Jesus?"

Many of us have forgotten that God has a purpose for placing us in a certain country. We often complain about the ills and forget the great things He has done in our country. We must believe that God is sovereign and HE can transform our nation.

We need to stir our hearts to love and begin to pray for our nation that God will bring revival to our streets, towns, cities, state and our country.

'Malaysia Shouts Your Praise' was first sung in KK prophetically. Kelvin Lim, the author of this song shares his testimony about God's divine appointment and purpose in the following Youtube video.

*Writings on this song to be available very soon. Please check back later. There is a special testimony about this song that I am waiting for.*

Ya Abba Bapa, ini aku anakmu
Layakkanlah seluruh hidupku
Ya Abba Bapa, ini aku anakmu
Pakailah sesuai dengan rencanamu

Translation:
I wanna love Jesus forever
I wanna love Jesus forever
Though the storms may hit on my life
I'll still love Jesus forever

Yes Father, this is me Your child
Make me worthy to be used
Yes Father, this is me Your son
Use me as your tool

Another song introduced in April 2008

We are introducing another new song in the month of April. Down to earth, easy to follow, this is another 'must sing' song. How awesome and holy is our Lord! Let the earth filled with His glory as we worship with this song in our land! Amen and amen!
